If you like pancakes and chocolate, this recipe is just the thing for you! I had some chocolate left over from Easter, so I thought I'd try this recipe. The chocolate is melted and cooled to make talers. They are then added to the pancakes during baking. It's super simple and yet very special. You will love it!
Melt the vegan chocolate and use a spoon to spread it out into equal-sized doughnuts (approx. 5 cm in diameter) on a baking tray.
Leave the thalers to harden in the fridge for 10 minutes.
Preparation of the pancake batter
In a bowl, mix together the flour, almond drink, vegan protein powder (if using), maple syrup, agave syrup and salt until a uniform dough forms.
If you are not using protein powder, add a tablespoon more flour if necessary.
Frying pancakes
Preheat a frying pan with some vegan butter over a medium heat.
Pour fist-sized portions of batter into the pan and place the prepared chocolate thalers in the middle of the batter. Cover the taler with another tablespoon of batter.
Fry the pancakes on both sides until golden brown.
Preparing and serving toppings
Garnish the filled chocolate pancakes with frozen berries and date syrup.
- Serve with additional toppings of your choice.
