There's nothing better than freshly baked bread rolls! You know exactly what's in them and they simply taste best fresh from the oven. These wholemeal spelt rolls are super healthy and quick to make.
Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water. Add the agave syrup and salt and mix well.
Gradually add the wholemeal spelt flour to the yeast water and knead well. If available, use a food processor to knead the dough.
Leave the dough to rest
Leave the dough to rise in a warm place for at least 30 minutes until it has significantly increased in volume.
Shape the rolls and preheat the oven
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape into rolls. If the dough is too sticky, moisten your hands with a little water. If necessary, add a tablespoon more flour if the dough is too sticky.
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees top and bottom heat.
Prepare and bake bread rolls
Cut into the rolls with a knife and spread with oat crème cuisine. Then sprinkle with the toppings (oat flakes and sunflower seeds).
Bake the rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper for about 25 minutes until they are golden brown and baked through.
Remove the freshly baked wholemeal spelt rolls from the oven and serve warm. Enjoy them with spreads, toppings or simply on their own!
